Jack Reynor Joins Kathryn Bigelow’s Untitled Detroit Riots Drama

Jack Reynor and his ‘Glassland’ co-star Will Poulter are to reunite for Oscar-winning filmmaker Kathryn Bigelow’s upcoming ensemble drama about the 1967 Detroit Riots.

While official story details are unknown, the Mark Boal-scripted feature is said to be a true crime drama set against the backdrop of Detroit’s devastating riots that took place over five haunting summer days in 1967.

The ensemble piece also includes John Boyega (‘Star Wars: The Force Awakens’ ‘Pacific Rim: Maelstrom’), ‘Game of Thrones’ star Hannah Murray, and Ben O’Toole (‘Hacksaw Ridge,’ ‘The Water Diviner’).

Production is expected to start this summer and the film is targeting a 2017 release in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the riots.

Megan Ellison’s Annapurna Pictures is financing with Bigelow and Boal producing along with Ellison, Matthew Budman and Colin Wilson. Greg Shapiro will executive produce.
