Multiple outlets are reporting that Swedish filmmaker Daniel Espinosa will step behind the camera for ‘The Anarchists vs ISIS,’ a feature adaptation of Seth Harp’s Rolling Stone article.
Jake Gyllenhaal, who most recently worked with Espinosa on the outer-space thriller ‘Life’ is on board star in the story of a ragtag team of American volunteers, socialists, and outcasts, who are fighting alongside the Kurdish militia, known as the YPG, to beat ISIS in Syria and establish an anarchist collective amid the rubble of war.
Gyllenhaal and Ninestories partner Riva Marker will produce, alongside Espinosa and his newly-minted banner BOZI. Michel Litvak of Bold Films will co-produce, with Gary Michael Walters executive producing.
