Gabriele Muccino

Will play the female lead opposite Russell Crowe…

Amanda Seyfried (‘A Million Ways to Die in the West,’ Lovelace’) is set to reteam with her ‘Les Misérables’ co-star Russell Crowe for the Gabriele Muccino-directed drama ‘Fathers and Daughters.’

The drama, announced earlier this week, is a love story between a father and daughter living in New York City 25 years apart. Moving back and forth between the 1980s, the film sees Crowe playing Jake Davis, a famous novelist and widower struggling with mental illness as he tries to raise his 5-year-old daughter, Katie. The story will also focus on 30-year-old Katie’s life in present-day Manhattan where she battles the aftermath of her troubled childhood.

Muccino, whose credits include ‘The Pursuit of Happyness’ and ‘Seven Pounds,’ will direct ‘Fathers and Daughters’ from a “Black List” script by Brad Desch.

Voltage Pictures’ Nicolas Chartier and Craig J. Flores are producing with Sherryl Clark co-producing.
