‘Oliver Twist’ re-imagining on the way…
According to the folks over at Film Divider, Sony has tapped Cornetto Trilogy director Edgar Wright to pen a new draft of ‘Dodge and Twist.’
Based on an idea by Ahmet Zappa (‘The Odd Life of Timothy Green’), the film is a described as a twenty-years later steampunk adventure centred on pickpocket rivals Oliver Twist and The Artful Dodger. Heat Vision adds that the two are “on opposite sides of the law and get embroiled in an affair to steal the Crown Jewels.”
Andrew Garfield (‘The Amazing Spider-Man’) and ‘The Theory of Everything’ star Eddie Redmayne’s names are reportedly on the studio’s wishlist for the film.
Matt Tolmach is attached to produce, alongside Zappa and his Monsterfoot Productions banner.
