‘Star Trek: The Force Awakens’ and ‘The Revenant’ star Domhnall Gleeson has reportedly entered into talks to team with director Simon Curtis for ‘Goodbye Christopher Robin,’ a biopic of Winnie the Pooh creator AA Milne.
Per Deadline, Gleeson would portray Milne with the film charting the relationship between the legendary author and his son, Christopher Robin, which led to the creation of the infamous children’s book character Winnie the Pooh.
Honey-loving Pooh was named after the teddy bear owned by Milne’s son. Christopher Robin, who initially had a difficult relationship with his father, also served as the inspiration for the character Christopher Robin. The boy’s toys also lent their names to other characters, such as Tigger, Eyeore and Piglet.
‘The Iron Lady’ producer Damian Jones and former Pinewood Films headhoncho Steve Christian are on board co-produce. TV producer Simon Vaughan (‘Ripper Street,’ ‘Watership Down,’ ‘Parade’s End’) penned the script.
