Hill and Teller set for Phillips-directed crime flick…
Deadline has learned that ‘Whiplash’ and ‘Fantastic Four’ actor Miles Teller has been offered a leading role opposite Jonah Hill in Todd Phillips’ next movie, ‘Arms and the Dudes.’
A passion project for Phillips, the film is inspired by the story of two potheads who become unlikely arms dealers when they win a $300 million contract from the government to supply America’s allies in Afghanistan with weapons.
Teller will play David Packouz, who was working as a licensed massage therapist in Miami before joining Efraim Diveroli (Hill) in international arms-dealing.
Jason Smilovic penned the script based on a the 2011 Rolling Stone article by Guy Lawson. Phillips will produce with Mark Gordon, while Bryan Zuriff will executive produce.
