Australian filmmaker Julius Avery (‘Overlord,’ ‘Son of a Gun’) will take the helm for ‘Samaritan,’ a superhero thriller that has Sylvester Stallone attached to star.

Co-starring ‘Euphoria’ actor and Junior Olympic boxing prodigy Javon ‘Wanna’ Walton, the film follows a young boy learns that a superhero who was thought to have gone missing after an epic battle twenty years ago may in fact still be around.

Per Deadline, the film will also star Martin Starr (‘Silicon Valley’), Pilou Asbæk (‘Game of Thrones’), Dascha Polanco (‘Orange Is the New Black’), and Moises Arias (‘The Kings of Summer’).

Avery will direct from a screenplay by Bragi F. Schut (‘Escape Room’), with additional writing by Mark L. Smith (‘The Revenant’), Zak Penn (‘Ready Player One’), and Chuck MacLean (‘City on a Hill’).
