Quentin Tarantino’s THE HATEFUL EIGHT Casts Jennifer Jason Leigh As Female Lead

Western ensemble locks in principal cast…

TheWrap is reporting that Jennifer Jason Leigh (‘Welcome to Me,’ ‘The Machinist’) has scored the coveted female lead in filmmaker Quentin Tarantino’s forthcoming western ‘The Hateful Eight.’

Leigh joins a cast that includes Bruce Dern (Nebraska”), Zoe Bell (‘Death Proof’), Walton Goggins (‘Justified’), Dana Gourrier (‘True Detective’), Michael Madsen (‘Kill Bill’), Denis Ménochet (‘Inglourious Basterds’), James Parks (‘Django Unchained’), James Remar (‘Dexter’), Tim Roth (‘Möbius’), Kurt Russell (‘Fast and Furious 7’), and Samuel L. Jackson (‘Captain America: The Winter Solider’).

Tarantino’s follow-up to ‘Django Unchained,’ the film is set in Wyoming after the Civil War, and follows the steadily ratcheting tension that develops after a blizzard diverts a stagecoach from its route, and traps a pitiless and mistrustful group which includes a competing pair of bounty hunters, a renegade Confederate soldier, and a female prisoner in a saloon in the middle of nowhere.

Principal photography is expected to kick off in December with filming to take place in Colorado.
