Filmmaker will get to direct ‘Alien’ film after all…
20th Century Fox has closed a deal with ‘District 9,’ ‘Elysium’ and ‘Chappie’ writer-director Neill Blomkamp to develop a new entry in the ‘Alien’ franchise.
The project is in the earliest of stages so plot details are unknown, but the sci-fi is believed to be a separate film from the ‘Prometheus’ sequel that Ridley Scott is working away on.
Blomkamp has been teasing the prospect of a new ‘Alien’ over the last couple of months, posting concept art that featured Sigourney Weaver’s iconic heroine Ellen Ripley and Michael Biehn’s Corporal Dwayne Hicks.
