Anyone can send an immense, computer-generated vegetable monster rampaging at the base of the Brooklyn Bridge, but it takes a special kind of imagination to do it in a way that's thrilling, emotionally complex, and rapturously beautiful all at once.

I just LOVE this movie, an unusual take on a superhero ... and his cohorts. Some laugh out loud funny moments combined with great action and a touching love story (that isn't shoehorned clumsily in!). The sequel was a bit of a let down but this it just a really good film and Del Toro adds his customary visual flourishes that just make the screen pop.

Excellent introductory film to the world of Hellboy and the BPRD. Pearlman is perfectly castas Hellboy and the movie is shot at a great pace. Well worth a look.

A geeky fan of the comic I really was impressed how well they captured the vibe of the comic and how well it looks for it's modest budget.

Didn't really get into this film. There seemed to be a lot of potential but none of it was followed through. Perlman was good as Hellboy though.
