GREMLINS Reboot Hires LAST HOUSE ON THE LEFT Scribe

“Don’t expose him to bright light. Don’t ever get him wet. And don’t ever, ever feed him after midnight.”

Screenwriter Carl Ellsworth has been tapped by Warner Bros. to tackle the script for a remake of the Joe Dante-directed horror comedy classic, ‘Gremlins,’ according to Deadline.

The 1984 original – the screenwriting debut of Chris Columbus – told of a young man who inadvertently breaks three important rules concerning his new pet (a Mogwai named Gizmo) and unleashes a horde of malevolently mischievous monsters on a small town.

Ellsworth’s credits include ‘Disturbia,’ ‘Last House On The Left,’ ‘Red Dawn,’ and the upcoming family horror adventure ‘Goosebumps.’
