FREQUENCY TV Series In Development

Yet another film adapted to the small screen…

The folks at THR are hearing that a character-driven series based on the 2000 sci-fi thriller ‘Frequency’ is in the works over at NBC.

Directed by Gregory Hoblit from a script by Toby Emmerich, the film starred Jim Caviezel (‘Person of Interest’) as a homicide detective who strangely makes contact with his father (played by Dennis Quaid) exactly 30 years in the past on the day before his death in a warehouse fire.

The series will focus on an NYPD detective who connects with his son, 30 years in the future. Like the film, the two must work together to change the history of tragic events to come.

Jeremy Carver, writer, producer and show runner on ‘Supernatural,’ is on board to pen the outline for the series, which NBC has issued a script-plus-penalty commitment.

Emmerich is behind the series, producing alongside Carver, John Rickard and Lin Pictures’ Dan Lin and Jennifer Gwartz.
