Elizabeth Banks and Donald Glover Join MAGIC MIKE XXL

Official synopsis revealed for stripper-inspired flick…

Elizabeth Banks (”The Hunger Games,’ ’30 Rock’), ‘Community’ star Donald Glover, and American Football player-turned-TV-host Michael Stahan have become the latest additions to the forthcoming sequel ‘Magic Mike XXL.’

The trio join returning stars Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez and Gabriel Iglesias, with the Amber Heard, Andie MacDowell, and Jada Pinkett Smith confirmed for supporting roles.

“Picking up the story three years after Mike bowed out of the stripper life at the top of his game, ‘Magic Mike XXL’ finds the remaining Kings of Tampa likewise ready to throw in the towel. But they want to do it their way: burning down the house in one last blow-out performance in Myrtle Beach, and with legendary headliner Magic Mike sharing the spotlight with them. On the road to their final show, with whistle stops in Jacksonville and Savannah to renew old acquaintances and make new friends, Mike and the guys learn some new moves and shake off the past in surprising ways.”

As previously reported, Matthew McConaughey will not be returning for the follow-up.

Filming on the stipper-inspired flick commenced this week under the direction of Gregory Jacobs, who takes over the reins from Steven Soderbergh.
