Dan Mazer To Helm Supernatural Comedy ANYA’S GHOST

Dan Mazer (‘I Give It a Year,’ ‘Dirty Grandpa,’ ‘Da Ali G Show’) is officially set to take the helm for an the adaptation of Vera Brosgol’s Eisner Award-winning graphic novel ‘Anya’s Ghost,’ reports Deadline.

Described as a coming-of-age story with a supernatural twist, the dark comedy revolves around Anya, a less than popular 16-year-old who gets stranded in an underground cave. There, she meets and rescues Emily, the apparent ghost of a teen who died a century earlier. While Anya thinks her new “friend” is the best thing to ever happen to her, the alliance has unforeseen consequences for Anya, her friends and her family.

Patrick Ness (‘A Monster Calls’) is on board to adapt the script, with Jeremy Bolt of Bolt Pictures producing, alongside Bullitt Entertainment’s Benedict Carver and eOne.
