Star and helmer attached to Black List comedy…
Deadline is reporting that Anthony Mackie (‘Captain America: The Winter Solider,’ ‘The Hurt Locker’) has signed on to take the lead in ‘Dear White People’ director Justin Simien’s next, ‘Make A Wish.’
Based on Zach Frankel’s 2013 Black List script, the comedy follows Butchie Jones (Mackie), a football star who sets out to grant the final wish of a dying 14-year-old. However, the task proves more challenging when the quarterback finds out the teen’s wish is to lose his virginity.
Robert Teitel and Jason Spire are on board to produce, with Mackie serving as executive producer along with Jason Newman and Jason Weinberg.
