Etan Cohen comedy secures second lead.
Vince Vaughn (‘Lay the Favourite,’ ‘Wedding Crashers’) has signed on to join Will Ferrell for the long-gesting comedy ‘Daddy’s Home.’
Set to begin production this autumn, the film is the story of a mild-mannered radio executive (Ferrell) who strives to become the best stepdad ever to his wife’s two children, but complications ensue when their freewheeling, freeloading real father (Vaughn) arrives, forcing stepdad to compete for the affection of the kids.
The film will mark the feature directorial debut of screenwriter Etan Cohen, who is helming from a screenplay he co-wrote with Brian Burns, Adam McKay and Chris Henchy.
Vaughn will next be seen starring opposite Owen Wilson in the Shawn Levy-directed comedy ‘The Internship,’ opening in Irish cinemas in July. Ferrell is currently busy shooting the highly anticipated ‘Anchorman’ sequel, ‘Anchorman: The Legend Continues.’
