Toy Story 4? Wishful thinking!
Despite becoming Pixar’s highest-grossing opening movie of all time, the powers that be have said there are no plans for a fourth Toy Story 4 movie. However, that doesn’t mean we’ve seen the last of the iconic characters.
In an promotional interview this weekend, Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich revealed that the short film before Cars 2 will feature the Toy Story characters.
“I don’t know that there would ever be a Toy Story 4. We don’t have any plans for one,” admitted the filmmaker, “but we are trying to find ways to keep the characters alive. We have announced we’re going to do a short film in front of ‘Cars 2: World Grand Prix’ that uses the Toy Story characters. We’re going to keep them alive; they’re not going away forever.”
Toy Story 3 opens in Ireland in July 2010 – Cars 2 opens in 2011.
