Cruz boards Sacha Baron Cohen-led spy comedy…
Penelope Cruz (‘The Counsellor’) is in final negotiations for a role in ‘Grimsby,’ Louis Leterrier’s spy comedy starring Sacha Baron Cohen and Mark Strong.
With a story by Baron Cohen and Phil Johnston, the film follows a British black ops agent (Strong) who is forced to go on the run with his long-lost brother, who is a northern English soccer hooligan (Baron Cohen).
Ian McShane (‘Cuban Fury’), David Harewood (‘Homeland’), Gabourey Sidibe (‘Precious’), Rebel Wilson (‘Pain and Gain’), Scott Adkins (‘Ninja: Shadow of a Tear’) and Annabelle Wallis (‘Peaky Blinders’), and comedian/actor Johnny Vegas (‘Moone Boy’) also star.
Cruz will play “a philanthropic corporate leader who may (or may not) be more than she seems.”
Filming is underway in the United Kingdom and South Africa.
