Two more board the alien invasion thriller…
Liev Schreiber (‘A Perfect Man,’ ‘Ray Donovan’) and Nick Robinson (‘Jurassic World,’ ‘Kings of Summer’) are reportedly in talks to star alongside Chloë Moretz (‘Carrie’) in the upcoming adaptation of Rick Yancey’s bestseller ‘The 5th Wave.’
Adapted by Susannah Grant (‘The Soloist,’ ‘Catch And Release,’ ‘Erin Brockovich’), the sci-fi tale centres on 16-year-old Cassie Sullivan as she tries to survive in a world devastated by the waves of an alien invasion that has already decimated the population and knocked mankind back to the Stone Age.
TheWrap has Schreiber in line to play the villain, Vosch, a high-ranking military official, while Robinson will take the role of Zombie, a boy on which Cassie has a school crush but who is now a ruthless paramilitary killer of aliens.
British newcomer Alex Roe also joins the cast, playing Evan Walker, a beguiling and mysterious boy who may have the key to the aliens’ weakness.
J Blakeson (‘The Disappearance of Alice Creed’) is directing, with filming scheduled for a September start.
