Pair to return for Tony Gilroy-directed spin-off.
Variety reports that Joan Allen and Albert Finney are in talks to join Tony Gilroy’s ‘The Bourne Legacy.’ The pair would be reprising their roles as key members of the superagent factory Operation Treadstone. While the movie won’t feature Matt Damon’s title character, the movie will be a continuation of the franchise.
Allen would be returning as CIA agent Pam Landy, the character she played in both 2004’s ‘The Bourne Supremacy’ and 2007’s ‘The Bourne Ultimatum.’ Finney would be reprising his role of Dr. Albert Hirsch, a behavior-modification expert who oversees the assassin training project.
They will be joining franchise newcomers Jeremy Renner, playing a new lead character, Rachel Weisz, and Oscar Isaac. Edward Norton is in negotiations to play the movie’s villain.
