It’s official folks! Reboot will arrive summer 2016.
Writer-director Paul Feig has revealed the cast for his upcoming female-driven reboot of ‘Ghostbusters’ – Kristen Wiig (‘The Skeleton Twins,’ ‘Bridesmaids’), Melissa McCarthy (‘Tammy,’ ‘The Heat’), Leslie Jones (‘Top Five,’ ‘Saturday Night Live’) and Kate McKinnon (‘Saturday Night Live,’ ‘Life Partners’).

Ivan Reitman’s classic supernatural action-comedy starred Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, Ernie Hudson, and the late Harold Ramis as the titular spirit-exterminators, who fearlessly take on the otherworldly evil infiltrating Manhattan. Feig take on the franchise will not be a sequel of any kind, but rather a hard reboot with the aim of being “scarier than the original.”
‘Ghostbusters’ is targeting a summer star in New York with Feig directing from a script he co-wrote with Katie Dippold (‘Parks and Recreation,’ ‘The Heat’). The film is currently pencilled in for a Summer 2016 release.
