‘Sinister’ and ‘The Exorcism Of Emily Rose’ director Scott Derrickson has been tapped by CBS Films take the writing and directing reigns of its big screen outing of the acclaimed video game series ‘Deus Ex.’
THR reports that Derrickson will co-write the screenplay with his ‘Sinister’ co-writer Robert Cargill, with Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh producing.
Serving as the basis for the feature will be the latest entry in the franchise, ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution.’ Developed by Eidos-Montréal and published by Square Enix, the game is set in 2027, 25 years before the first game in the series, and follows Adam Jensen, an ex-SWAT security specialist who must embrace mechanical augments in order to unravel a global conspiracy.
