Actresses circle Shyamalan’s retitled sci-fi.
Zoe Kravitz (‘X-Men: First Class’) and Sophie Okonedo (‘Doctor Who,’ ‘Hotel Rwanda’) are in early talks to join M. Night Shyamalan’s ‘After Earth,’ a sci-fi action adventure starring Will and Jaden Smith. The project was previously titled ‘One Thousand A.E.’
Penned by Shyamalan and Gary Whitta (‘The Book of Eli’) with rewrites from Stephen Gaghan (‘Traffic’), the story follows a father and son who crash-lands on Earth one thousand years after mankind has abandoned the planet. The crash leaves the warrior father badly injured, and it’s up to the boy to find help in what is now a strange and dangerous place.
According to Heat Vision, Kravitz would play Smith’s daughter, while Okonedo would be taking the role of his wife. Production is scheduled to kick off early next year
