Snyder replacing Niels Arden Oplev as director.
According to Twitch, Zack Snyder is to take the director’s chair for the action thriller ‘The Last Photograph.’ He replaces Niels Arden Oplev (‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’) who has dropped out for undisclosed reasons.
Based on an idea by Snyder and scripted by Kurt Johnstad (‘300’), the story follows a war correspondent and a retired ex-special ops soldier who are inspired by a photograph to travel war torn Afghanistan.
Sean Penn and Christian Bale are attached to star with production set to begin in 2012 after Bale finishes up on ‘The Dark Knight Rises.’
