THR is reporting that Walt Disney Pictures has entered into early talks with ‘Chuck’ star Zachary Levi to take the role of Fandral in ‘Thor 2.’ The actor would be replacing Josh Dallas who is unable to return for the sequel due to his obligations to the fantasy drama series ‘Once Upon A Time.’
Levi was initially in talks to play Fandral in the first film, but the actor had to pass due to his ‘Chuck’ commitments, paving the way for Dallas to take the role.
‘Thor 2’ is expected to begin shooting next month with ‘Game of Thrones’ helmer Alan Taylor in the director’s chair. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Idris Elba, and Anthony Hopkins are all returning, while Mads Mikkelsen (‘The Three Musketeers,’ ‘Pusher’) is in talks to play an unspecified villain.
