Zach Braff’s WISH I WAS HERE Adds Anna Kendrick

Josh Gad and Mandy Patinkin also attached.

Zach Braff’s crowd-sourced sophomore feature, ‘Wish I Was Here,’ has found its first three cast members: Anna Kendrick (‘Pitch Perfect,’ ‘Up In The Air’), ‘Book of Mormon’ of star Josh Gad and Mandy Patinkin (‘Homeland,’ ‘The Princess Bride’).

Patinkin will be playing the father of Braff’s character Aidan Bloom, a struggling actor, father and husband, who at 35 is still trying to find his identity; a purpose for his life. When his ailing dad can no longer pay for Aidan’s two young children to attend private school, Aidan reluctantly agrees to homeschool the kids, learning a lot about himself in the process.

Kendrick is set for the role of Janine, a young woman into Cosplay who Braff’s brother (played by Josh Gad) becomes smitten with. Jim Parsons (‘The Big Bang Theory’) will also appear.

Production is expected to begin in Los Angeles this August, with additional financing coming from indie production banner Worldview Entertainment
