YOUNG SHERLOCK HOLMES Remake On The Way

Disney scribe wanted for remake.

According to a report over at TheWrap, screenwriter Evan Spiliotopoulos (‘Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure,’ ‘The Lion King 1½’) has entered into talks with Paramount Pictures to provide the script for a remake of 1985’s ‘Young Sherlock Holmes.’

Directed by Barry Levinson, the original follows Sherlock Holmes (Nicolas Rowe) and John Watson (Alan Cox) as they meet as teenagers at a British boarding school and stumble upon a series of mysterious murders. The film was executive produced by Steven Spielberg and Frank Marshall.

Chris Columbus (‘Night at the Museum,’ ‘Harry Potter’), who penned the original, is on board to produce the remake.
