Taking Gary Busey role…
Ray Winstone (‘Noah,’ ‘The Sweeny’) is in negotiations to join the cast of Ericson Core’s reboot of ‘Point Break,’ says Variety.
Set against the world of international extreme sports, the remake retains the original story of a young FBI agent Johnny Utah (played by Luke Bracey) infiltrating a ring of criminals.
The trade has Winstone lined up for the role of Utah’s veteran partner, which Gary Busey played in Kathryn Bigelow’s 1991 original. Gerard Butler (‘Gods of Egypt ,’ ‘Olympus Has Fallen’) also stars.
Broderick Johnson and Andrew Kosove of Alcon Entertainment are producing along with John Baldecchi, Chris Taylor and Kurt Wimmer, who penned the screenplay.
