Award-winning screenwriter lines up his second directing effort.
Atlas Independent, the newly-formed affiliate company of super producer Charles Roven’s Atlas Entertainment, is teaming up with writer-director William Monahan to develop a crime thriller titled ‘Mojave,’ reports Deadline.
Plot specifics are being kept under wraps at the moment, but production is scheduled to kick off in August in Southern California. The film will serve as Monahan’s follow-up to ‘London Boulevard.’
“Working with Chuck Roven and Atlas is perfection from my point of view, and has already led to a brilliant ongoing relationship,” Monahan said in a statement. “It’s the strongest possible company and they’re specifically in the business of protecting quality work. Atlas and I have decided to do a lot of work together and here we go.”
Monahan, who won an Oscar for writing Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Departed,’ will produce alongside Atlas Independent producers William Green, Andy Horwitz and Alan Glazer.
