William Fichtner Replaces Dwight Yoakam in THE LONE RANGER

Amazing character actor joins big screen reboot.

Deadline reports that William Fichtner (‘Drive Angry,’ ‘The Dark Knight,’ ‘Ultraviolet’) has joined the cast of Gore Verbinski’s big screen adaptation of ‘The Lone Ranger.’

He replaces Dwight Yoakam, who was initially attached to play the villain, Butch Cavendish, before dropping out due to a scheduling conflict. Cavendish is the ruthless leader of a vicious band of outlaws that come up against the Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) and his faithful sidekick Tonto (Johnny Depp). The film will co-star Ruth Wilson, James Badge Dale, Barry Pepper, Helena Bonham Carter, Tom Wilkinson and James Frain.

Fichtner recently wrapped on ‘Elysium,’ Neill Blomkamp’s upcoming socio-political sci-fi co-starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. The actor is also set to make his directorial debut with the indie ‘Coldbrook’ when finishes up on ‘The Lone Ranger.’
