Smith eyes lead in sci-fi thriller…
Will Smith is reportedly in early talks to star in ‘Brilliance,’ Legendary Pictures’ feature adaptation of the Marcus Sakey sci-fi novel ‘Brilliance.’
Published last year, the story takes place in a world where 1% of children are born savants with special powers. Called “brilliants,” they are capable of exceptional things.
‘Men in Black’ star Smith would be playing Nick Cooper, a federal agent who uses his skills to become a master hunter of terrorists. His latest target may be the most dangerous man alive, a brilliant drenched in blood and intent on provoking civil war. But to catch him, Cooper will have to violate everything he believes in—and betray his own kind.
Julius Onah (‘God Particle’) is behind the camera for the adaptation with a script penned by David Koepp. Producers include Joe Roth, Palak Patel, Alex Hedlund, and Eric McLeod.
