Streaming giant Netflix has announced plans for Will Ferrell to star in a comedy based around the annual Eurovision Song Contest.

In addition to starring, Deadline confirms that the ‘Anchorman’ and ‘Step Brothers’ actor will co-write the script with his long-time collaborator, Andrew Steele. The pair previously worked on ‘The Royal Wedding Live, ’‘Casa de mi Padre,’ ‘A Deadly Adoption,’ ‘Saturday Night Live,’ and numerous ‘Funny or Die Presents…’ shorts.

Jessica Elbaum, Ferrell and Adam McKay will produce through their Gary Sanchez Productions banner.

Ferrell is a big fan of the contest since his wife Viveca Paulin introduced him to it in 1999, and was seen hanging around backstage at this year’s this year’s contest in Lisbon.
