WE HAVE ALWAYS LIVED IN THE CASTLE – First Trailer for Irish Filmed Gothic Thriller

“The world is full of terrible people…” Our first look at director Stacie Passon’s adaptation of the beloved Shirley Jackson mystery novel, which was shot in Bray and Dublin back in 2016.

Merricat Blackwood (Taissa Farmiga) lives on the family estate with her older sister Constance (Alexandra Daddario) and their aging Uncle Julian (Crispin Glover). They are the last remaining members of the Blackwood family after a fatal dose of arsenic found its way into the sugar bowl one night. Sealed off from the curiosity and hostility of the villagers, their quiet isolation is disturbed by the arrival of their charming cousin Charles (Sebastian Stan), putting Merricat on high alert.
