Wayne Kramer to Direct Patrick Wilson and Alec Baldwin In CAUGHT STEALING

Noir thriller lands new director…

Wayne Kramer (‘Running Scared,’ ‘The Cooler’) has closed deal to take the directing reigns of the David Hayter-scripted noir mystery thriller ‘Caught Stealing,’ says Deadline.

Based on novel of the same name Charlie Huston, the film sees Patrick Wilson (‘Insidious: Chapter 2,’ ‘The Conjuring’ ‘Watchmen’) playingHank Thompson, once a hotshot high school baseball prospect, turned unlucky alcoholic, going-nowhere bartender who mistakenly gets caught up in a bloody treasure hunt through New York City. It turns out that the cat Hank’s neighbour left in his care is sitting on a secret. Hidden at the bottom of its cage is a key wanted by Russian mobsters, a Samoan hit man, and a pair of psychotic brothers who dress in leather gear.

Alec Baldwin (‘Rock of Ages,’ ’30 Rock’) co-stars, playing Roman, a sadistic cop with whom Hank gets mixed up with on his treasure hunt. The film marks Baldwin’s second collaboration withKramer, having previously worked with the director on the 2003 drama ‘The Cooler.’

“I was blown away by the intensity and dark humour of Charlie Huston’s debut novel when I first read it several years ago. ‘Caught Stealing’ has all the ingredients for a heart-pounding thriller and I’m excited to be part of the great team that is bringing it to the screen,” Kramer said in a statement.
