Carla Gugino to co-star opposite Dwayne Johnson in Faster.
Carla Gugino has signed on to co-star opposite Dwayne Johnson in the revenge thriller Faster.
Penned by Joe and Tony Gayton, the film follows Johnson’s ex-con character as he sets out to avenge his brother’s murder with a deadly to-do list.
Gugino – who many will remember as the star of the summer hit Watchmen – plays the detective in charge of the investigation, hot on his trail and hell-bent on connecting the killings with a decade-old case.
The actress is the replacement for Salma Hayek, who at the last minute (January 31st) dropped out of the project due to supposed “scheduling issues”.
The project, which started principal photography earlier this month, is directed by George Tillman Jr. (“Notorious,” “Men of Honor,” “Soul Food”).
