Mark Wahlberg signs for ‘Reykjavik-Rotterdam’

Mark Wahlberg has signed up to star in a remake of Icelandic thriller Reykavick-Rotterdam.

The film tells the story of a former alcohol smuggler turned security guard who is lured back into the business by a shady friend after he gets himself into financial trouble. The Oskar Jonasson-directed original is Iceland’s nomination for the foreign-language Oscar this year.

Zccording to The Hollywood Reporter. the project will be scripted by Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners) and helmed by Baltasar Kormakur, who starred in the original.
