Viola Davis Joins ENDER’S GAME

Oscar-nominated actress boards sci-fi adaptation.

Variety is reporting that ‘The Help’ actress Viola Davis has landed a supporting role in Gavin Hood’s long-gestating adaptation sci-fi ‘Ender’s Game.’

Based on the first entry of Orson Scott Card’s popular series, the adaptation stars Asa Butterfield (‘Hugo’) as Andrew “Ender” Wiggin, a young genius strategist, who is drafted by an elite military academy to battle an insect-like alien race.Davis will be playing a “military psychologist who oversees the emotional welfare of young trainees. She also helps design the games that test their skills and resilience.”

The actress joins the principle cast of Hailee Steinfeld, Abigail Breslin, Ben Kingsley, and Harrison Ford. Aramis Knight (‘Rendition), Moises Arias (‘Astro Boy’), Jimmy Pinchak (‘Let Me In’), Suraj Parthasarathy, Conor Carroll (‘Away We Go’) and Khylin Rhambo will co-star.
