Maggie Gyllenhaal isn’t a name you’d usually expect to see attached to a summer blockbuster. The actress is usually to be found among those smaller indie/cult projects – ‘Donnie Darko’, ‘Secretary’ and more recently ‘Sherry Baby’. But if you are going to go blockbuster, there’s no better place to start than with Christopher Nolan’s ‘Dark Knight’!
We got a chance to talk to Maggie over the weekend about the film, which has already toppled all box-office expectations. Here, the actress chats about her character Rachel Dawes – the love-torn interest of both Batman (Christian Bale) and Gotham’s ambitious District Attorney Harvey Dent – and how she feels about taking over for Katie Holmes in ‘The Dark Knight’.
