With the Dark Knight out on DVD this weekend, Chris Nolan talks Batman – The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is no doubt the most talked about film of the year and from Friday you can buy/rent it on DVD. We were lucky enough to get access to the film’s cast and crew earlier this year.

Director Christopher Nolan came into the public eye in 2000 with the independent movie ‘Memento’, since then he’s made three Hollywood movies (yes, it feels like he’s been around for ever, but he hasn’t). ‘Insomnia’ in 2002, ‘Batman Begins’ in 2005 and ‘The Prestige’ in 2006.

The director now has the biggest hit of the year on his hands, ‘The Dark Knight’ has just become the first movie ever to take in $300 million in its first 10 days. How does the director handle such success? What does he think of the over-whelming feedback? Did the untimely death of Heath Ledger (who plays The Joker) effect his plans in any way? Watch our video interview for the answer to these questions and more.

The Dark Knight is released on DVD in Ireland on December 5th

We have copies of the Dark Knight to give away this week on Movies.ie
