“Pirates” director lines up ‘Black Hole’ project

Director Gore Verbinski has signed up to work on the drama formerly titled Black Hole.

Written by Michael Gilio, the project tells the story of a retired rancher who loses his savings in a phone solicitations company scam.

“The script taps into the shaken trust the public has toward once-trusted institutions and examines how the people behind these institutions are sometimes themselves as much victims of the same blind trust,” producer Jonathan Krauss told Variety.

The Pirates of the Caribbean helmer is already currently working on animated feature Rango and video game adaptation BioShock.
