Director and star attached to comic adaptation.
Vince Vaughn is said to be reuniting with his ‘Couples Retreat’ director Peter Billingsley for an action comedy feature based on the Images Comics graphic novel ‘Term Life.’
Created by writer A.J. Lieberman and illustrated by Nick Thornborrow, the Image Comics title follows Nick Barrow, a low-life who specializes in planning heists and tricks before selling them off to the highest bidder. When one of his heists goes bad, everyone involved wants him dead, from mob bosses to corrupt cops. Performing the last act of a desperate man, Nick takes out a million dollar insurance policy on himself, payable to his estranged daughter. The problem? The policy doesn’t take effect for 21 days.
Vaughn is attached to star, and will produce the film alongside his Wild West Picture Show partners Victoria Vaughn and Micah Mason. Principal photography is scheduled to begin early 2014.
