Ty Burrell and Max Charles to Voice MR. PEABODY AND SHERMAN

3D Animated feature lands new voice cast.

Variety reports that Ty Burrell (‘Modern Family,’ ‘Dawn of the Dead’) and Max Charles (‘The Amazing Spider-Man,’ ‘The Three Stooges’) are to lend their voices to DreamWorks Animation’s ‘Mr. Peabody and Sherman.’

Burrell will voice Mr. Peabody, the world’s smartest person, who happens to be a dog. When his “pet” boy Sherman (Charles) uses their time-travelling machine without permission, historical events spiral out of control to disastrous and comical results. It’s up to this unexpected team to put things back on track before the space-time continuum is destroyed.

Robert Downey Jr. was originally attached to project when it was announced last year, but it appears that the ‘Iron Man’ star will be too busy to work on the 3D animated feature.

Rob Minkoff (‘Flypaper,’ ‘The Lion King’) is directing with a script by Craig Wright (‘Six Feet Under,’ ‘Lost’). Release is scheduled for March 2014.
