TwoFace is Dead

Aaron Eckhart Says Two-Face Definitely Won’t Be Back

With casting rumours galore (Catwoman, Penguin, Riddler, my Aunt Sally), we now know at least one thing about any possible Dark Knight sequel – we can tick Two-Face off the list.

In a recent interview Aaron Eckhart, who played the duo Dent/Two-Face in the summer blockbuster, has confirmed he has no plans to return to the character.

According to Gotham’s former District Attorney: “He is dead as a door nail. He ain’t coming back baby!  I asked Chris [Nolan] that question and he goes, “You’re dead” before I could even get the question out of my mouth.”

When asked whether he believed there was any way they could resurrect the character, Eckhart explained:

“I think in contract negotiations it’s a problem. No, I’m not coming back. I think unfortunately, Heath [Ledger] was supposed to go on and that didn’t work out. I’m nobody. I’m a cog. I have no say over this sort of stuff. I’m sure that there’s so many other characters that they could whip together. I heard Angelina Jolie was going to be Catwoman or something like that. I thought that was a great idea. I’d like to be in that one.”

The Dark Knight went on to set a new record this weekend as the second film (after Titanic) to reach the 500 million dollar mark in box office sales.
