Latest additions to Tommy Wirkola’s ‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D’
Actors Derek Mears and Thomas Mann have joined the cast of ‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters 3D.’ The actors will star alongside Jeremy Renner, Gemma Arterton, Famke Janssen, Peter Stormare and Norwegian actress Ingrid Bolsø Berdal.
Mears is best known for portraying slasher icon Jason Voorhees in Marcus Nispel’s ‘Friday the 13th’ remake. He also starred in Nimród Antal’s ‘Predators’ where he portrayed the “Classic Predator.” ‘Community’ fans may remember his as Kickpuncher, the cyborg cop “whose punches have the power of kicks!” Mann was last seen in ‘Kind of a Funny Story’ has a appeared in the tv series ‘The Middle.’
‘Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters’ is a re-imagining of the Brothers Grimm classic, “an exploration of what happened to the pair after the traumatic gingerbread house experience.” Set 15 years later, the duo have become bounty hunters, tracking and killing witches across the world.
Famke Janssen and Ingrid Bolsø Berdal play two of the witches who plot against the duo. Peter Stormare plays the “villainous town sheriff” named Berringer.Tommy Wirkola (‘Dead Snow’) who co-wrote the script will direct. Among the producers are Will Ferrell and Adam McKay.
