TRANSCENDENCE Scribe Penning BATTLESTAR GALACTICA

Sci-fi feature lands new blood…

Screenwriter Jack Paglen (‘Transcendence’) has reportedly closed a deal to provide the screenplay for the Universal’s long-in-development big screen outing of ‘Battlestar Galactica.’

The original series focused on the last of a space-travelling group of humans who survived a lethal surprise attack and, in one remaining warship and a “rag-tag fugitive fleet” of ships, try to navigate their way to the legendary planet called Earth.

Original series creator Glen A. Larson is on board to produce with Scott Bernstein and director of development Jay Polidoro overseeing development for the studio.

Last we heard, ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past’ director Bryan Singer was linked to the director’s chair but it is unclear if that is still the case.

Paglen is also writing Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’ sequel over at 20th Century Fox.
