Trailer Talk Monsters vs Aliens

We take a look at the latest trailer for the 3-D animated pic “Monsters vs. Aliens

Fresh off the thrilling, funny and charming “Kung Fu Panda”, it look as like the good people at DreamWorks Animation has another gem on their hands with the brilliantly conceived Monsters vs. Aliens.

Why are we so excited about this ‘50s monster homage movie. Well, who doesn’t like a good monster pic? And add aliens, 3-D technology and  an all-star voice casting including Reese Witherspoon, Seth Rogen, Hugh Laurie and Will Arnet to the mix and what’s not to love. Judging by the trailer – this is one film not to miss come April 3rd…

After being exposed to toxic radiation from a meteorite (on her wedding day no less) Susan Murphy, a seemly innocent Susie-homemaker type, is set to become the world’s first 49 feet 11 inches woman. (Not to be confused with the 50 ft. Woman). Drafted by the military, the bride-to-be joins a motley crew of monsters – there to protect the earth and its inhabitant. Move over Uma Thurman, there’s a new Bride in town…

Meet Insectosaurus. Once a small grub Insectosaurus was exposed to a healthy dose of radiation and grew up to be 350 ft tall. There’s only one problem – while he may have technically grown up (and up!), he never really grew up… Very much a baby at heart, this grub is still teething – the only difference being he’s doing it on the side of sky-scrapers…

Dr. Cockroach Ph.D. – Voiced by Hugh Laurie, Dr. Cockroach was the most brilliant mind in the world. But one faithful day, whiling trying to combine the survival traits of cockroaches with humans, when he accidentally became a guy with a cockroach head. “The Fly” anyone???

Will Arnett may be waiting for the “Arrested Development” movie (cough, cough -Michael Cera!!!) but he by no means idle. Here, GOB  voices the missing link, not dissimilar to The Creature From the Black Lagoon. He is the missing link that was frozen during the ice age. He was thawed out by the government, and found a vacation resort occupying the same spot that used to be his old watering hole. Chaos ensued.

Forget the blob – there’s a new gelatinous hero in town – bob – the culinary experiment gone terribly wrong. Scientists were attempting to combine a ranch flavours to a tomato but instead created a gelatinous force to be reckoned with.
