Plus… how did Toy Story 3 perform at the box-office?
‘Toy Story 3’ opened in America this weekend and broke the record to become Pixar’s highest-grossing opener of all time, making $109m in its first three days. The previous Pixar record was held by ‘The Incredibles’, which took $71m. Shrek 3 still holds the record for highest opening with $122m.
Meanwhile, the movie brought in $44.8 million from other countries this weekend, almost doubling the comparable opening of last year’s ‘UP’. ‘Toy Story 3’ is being being given a graduated overseas rollout to capitalise on local market conditions. It hits Ireland in July.
Meanwhile, Disney/Pixar have released a special World Cup poster to tie in with the games in South Africa.
