Actress to play seven roles in sci-fi drama…

Noomi Rapace (‘Prometheus,’ ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’) has closed to take multiple sisters in Tommy Wirkola’s upcoming sci-fi drama ‘What Happened to Monday?.’

Based on a Black List script by Max Botkin, the film will see Rapace playing identical septuplet sisters “who struggle to stay hidden in an overpopulated world where a one-child policy outlaws siblings.”

“Although the role was originally written for a male, I was struck by the complexities of having an actor portray seven characters and immediately knew Noomi was the ideal actor – male or female – to bring them to life,” Wirkola told Variety.

Italian film producer Raffaella De Laurentiis (‘Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story,’ ‘Dune,’ ‘Conan the Barbarian’) is on board to finance the drama through his Raffaella Productions banner, along with Philippe Rousselet’s French production company Vendome.
