Tom Holland Adapting Stephen King

Veteran horror director to adapt short story.

Tom Holland (‘Child’s Play,’ ‘Fright Night’) has closed a deal to write and direct a feature adaptation of Stephen King’s short story ‘The Ten O’clock People,’ reports Deadline. The two previously collaborated on ‘The Langoliers’ and ‘Thinner.’

Published in 1993 as part of King’s ‘Nightmares and Dreamscapes’ collection, the story follows Brandon Pearson, a Boston man who “in trying to kick his smoking habit uncovers a frightening aspect of reality that he plans to extinguish through extreme measures.”

Commenting on the project, Holland said that his “film will be a modernization of the original short story, a paranoid suspense piece.”
