Tom Hardy Loads Up 100 BULLETS

‘Mad Max: Fury Road’ star Tom Hardy is to produce and possibly topline a feature adaptation of Brian Azzarello and Eduardo Risso’s acclaimed DC Vertigo comic ‘100 Bullets,’ THR has learned.

A dark noir-style tale, the comic centres on the attempt by one man, the mysterious Agent Graves, to destroy a secret group of families that control most of the world’s wealth and power. ‘100 Bullets’ also poses a classic moral question, “If you could get away with murdering the person who ruined your life, would you do it?”

The comic’s starting-off point is Graves giving ordinary people who have been wronged a pistol and a briefcase with 100 untraceable bullets, offering them to exact justice for themselves with no danger of being caught. It’s self-contained storylines eventually blend into a sprawling crime saga where everything — and everyone — is connected as Graves takes on a multinational clandestine organization named The Trust.

Geoff Johns and Adam Schlagman of DC Comics are overseeing development alongside New Line’s Richard Brener, Walter Hamada and Dave Neustadter.

Plot details for the film are unknown, but trade’s sources say “the plan is to stay true” to the source material.

Hardy will next be seen starring as the infamous Kray twins in writer-director Brian Helgeland’s crime drama ‘Legend’ when it arrives in Irish cinemas September 9th.
